ReCardiacs Fly Saturday, 2/23, Starry Plough

Yes.  We have been permitted to take the stage once again at the Starry Plough Pub, 3101 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley!  We are sandwiched between Cash Pony and Surplus 1980.  You won't regret getting near us.
Read on:

11:00 p.m. SURPLUS 1980 is Moe! Staiano's latest project. Born in the studio, Surplus 1980:the live band debuted in October 2011 to celebrate the release of its eponymous LP/CD. Like the recording itself, a Surplus 1980 show will feature Moe! and a revolving cast of great musicians. Moe! has begun work on Surplus' second album, "Arterial Ends Here" slated for a 2013 release.

10:00 p.m. An ongoing tribute to the UK prog-punk band Cardiacs, RECARDIACS FLY was born from a mutual love of Cardiacs music, and the band Reconnaissance Fly! (of which a majority of ReCardiacs Fly are members). ReCardiacs Fly! has had several successful shows about the Bay Area, all benefits to aid Cardiacs lead singer and songwriter, Tim Smith, whose career has been grounded by health issues. Also awkwardly to be featured are the completed plastic surgeries to ReCardiacs Fly's bass player and second percussionist. They are prepared for your ridicule and medicinal beer donations.

9:00 p.m. CASH PONY is a psychedelic and progressive rock group from oakland ca. collectively, themes of free jazz, electronic synthesis, epic prog rock, north indian ragas, balkan folk passages, stoner metal, and ambient 'treatments' directly influence the sound of Cash Pony.

NOTA BENE: Many of you have been invited despite being impossibly far away but we are required to let you know so that you can alert anyone who IS nearby to come to our so-called gig. We are looking for quantity, not quality, and even low-lives and riff-raff can be referred since times are hard and not even ReCardiacs Fly's parent corporation can afford to "promote" this event on Facebook.

Doors at 8, music at 9, $8 - $12 sliding scale!
Please be 21 or over.
